Episode 111 – What does a tweet feel like?

The Michaels are back with another exciting episode of Games At Work dot Biz. We look at the taptic engine design for the upcoming Apple Watch and begin positing what a tweet might feel like. These design considerations of what goes into this question brings us to a discussion on how to design a new experience. How many different ways do you want to feel your notifications? Is a Tweet the same as a SMS, a iMessage notification, or a direct message? Would you want notifications for a specific hashtag?

We then extend the discussion to look at a haptic vest which allows the blind to see and the deaf to hear. This amazing TED talk looks at how researchers are extending the human senses to feel a tweet.

Michael M. also let’s us know about a new MOOC he is playing developed by Wil van der Aalst. While Michael R. reminds our local listeners to head over to the East Coast Game Conference and say hello to our sometime co-host – Phaedra Boinodiris.
